Cheap Grammarly Pro in 2026: 12 Months on a Fresh Gmail Account

Grammarly replaced Premium with Pro, at US$144 a year in the US. Here is what Pro adds over Free, how our 12-month activation works, and why it needs a new Gmail address.

Grammarly's paid plan is now called Pro. It replaced Grammarly Premium, and in the US it costs US$12 per member per month billed annually, or US$30 billed month to month, as of October 2026. A year on annual billing comes to US$144 before tax.

SpandyUpgrades sells cheap Grammarly Pro for twelve months at €45. It is activated on a fresh Gmail address that has never had a Grammarly account, not on the account you may already use. That one requirement shapes most of this guide, so read the ordering section before you buy.

What Grammarly Pro includes

The free plan fixes spelling and basic grammar and gives you a small number of AI prompts. According to Grammarly's plans page, Pro adds:

  • Full-sentence rewrites with a click, instead of word-by-word fixes
  • Tone adjustments, so you can make a message warmer, firmer or more formal
  • Fluency suggestions for writing in English as a second language
  • Unlimited personalised suggestions
  • Plagiarism and AI-generated text detection
  • 2,000 AI prompts a month for generating and rewriting text, against 100 on Free

Grammarly works through its browser extension, desktop app and mobile keyboard, so the suggestions follow you into email, documents and chat apps. Those apps are the same on Free and Pro; Pro changes what the suggestions can do.

Grammarly also sells Pro to teams, with account roles, user groups and team analytics. Those features matter to an admin managing a company plan. For one person writing, the list above is the part you'll notice.

Paying monthly is the expensive way to use Grammarly. Twelve months at the monthly rate costs two and a half times the annual price.

The SpandyUpgrades option

OptionPriceLengthWhat you need
Pro · 12 months€4512 monthsA fresh Gmail address with no Grammarly account on it

Grammarly has one plan in our catalog, so this guide covers it in full.

Pro · 12 months

A year of Grammarly Pro for €45, against a listed retail price of €144. That is a saving of 69%, or €99 over the year.

The catch is the account. Activation needs a Gmail address that has never been used to sign up for Grammarly. Other email providers have caused problems, so Gmail is mandatory. The Pro plan ends up on a new Grammarly account tied to that Gmail address.

Who it suits, and who it doesn't

It suits you if:

  • You don't use Grammarly yet, or only use the free plan casually.
  • You write a lot in English for work or study and want rewrites, tone control and the plagiarism check.
  • You're fine signing in to the Grammarly extension and apps with a new Gmail address.

Think twice if:

  • You've built up a personal dictionary and settings on an existing Grammarly account. They live on that account and won't appear on the new one.
  • Your employer or school already gives you Grammarly. Check before paying for something you have.
  • You need Grammarly on a work email address for single sign-on. This plan sits on a Gmail account.

If you already pay Grammarly directly, cancel that subscription. You won't be upgrading it; you'll be moving to a different account, and two paid accounts would be a waste.

Living with a second Grammarly account

Because Pro sits on a new account, the practical work is switching the places you use Grammarly over to it. Sign out of the old account in the browser extension, then sign in with the Gmail address. Do the same in the desktop app, the Microsoft Office add-in, Google Docs and the mobile keyboard if you use them. It takes a few minutes, but it's easy to miss one and wonder why Pro suggestions aren't showing up.

If you had a free Grammarly account before, you can keep it. It just stays on the free plan. There's no need to delete it, and keeping it means the old personal dictionary is still there if you want to copy words across by hand.

A dedicated Gmail address also has a small upside: Grammarly's sign-in emails and account notices land in one inbox you use only for this, instead of mixing with your personal mail. Keep that inbox accessible, since you'll need it if Grammarly ever asks you to verify a sign-in.

How ordering works

  1. Create a new Gmail address, or pick one that has never been used to sign up for Grammarly.
  2. Go to the Grammarly page, choose Pro · 12 months, and pay by card or crypto. First-time buyers get 10% off.
  3. In the order form, enter that Gmail address, the password the form asks for, and your Discord or Telegram username.
  4. Most orders are delivered within 0–24 hours. Follow progress on your order page.
  5. Sign in to Grammarly with the Gmail address, then install or sign in to the browser extension, desktop app or keyboard you use.

Use an address you can reach. If Grammarly sends a sign-in code or verification email, it goes to that Gmail inbox. After delivery, change the password.

The Grammarly product page doesn't state a warranty period. If coverage matters to you, ask on Discord before ordering. All sales are final, and refunds are only issued if an order can't be delivered. The FAQ covers payment and delivery questions that apply to every product.

Frequently asked questions

Is Grammarly Pro the same as Grammarly Premium?

Grammarly introduced Pro as the paid tier that replaces Premium. It keeps the individual writing features Premium had and adds team functions such as account roles and analytics.

Why does it have to be a fresh Gmail address?

Activation creates the Pro plan on a new Grammarly account, so the address can't already have one. Other providers have caused activation problems, which is why Gmail is required.

Can I upgrade my existing Grammarly account instead?

No. This plan is activated on a new account tied to a fresh Gmail address. If keeping your current account matters to you, this offer isn't the right fit.

Will my personal dictionary carry over?

No. Your dictionary and preferences belong to your old Grammarly account. You'll need to add custom words again on the new one.

Does it work in Google Docs, Word and on my phone?

Pro works in the same places Grammarly does: the browser extension, the desktop app and the mobile keyboard. Sign in to each one with the new Gmail-based account.

What happens after twelve months?

The account goes back to Grammarly's free plan. You keep the account and can keep using the free features, or order another year.
