Surfshark's headline prices are long-term deals with bonus months attached. Strip those away and Surfshark Starter is $16.45 a month on a monthly plan in the US. The 1-year plan is $50.85 for the first 15 months (12 plus 3 extra), then renews at $79 a year. Those are Surfshark's US dollar prices as of October 2026.

What Surfshark Starter includes
Surfshark sells three tiers: Starter, One and One+. Starter is the VPN tier. Surfshark's pricing page and plan data list, for Starter:
- The VPN, on unlimited devices. Surfshark puts no cap on simultaneous connections: "you can protect as many devices as you like."
- 4,500+ servers in 100 countries, according to Surfshark's server page.
- Ad blocker and cookie pop-up blocker, built into the VPN apps.
- Bypasser, Surfshark's split tunnelling, which lets chosen apps and websites skip the VPN. Useful for banking apps that dislike VPN connections.
- Rotating IP, which changes your IP address while you stay connected.
- Dynamic MultiHop, routing traffic through two VPN servers.
- Alternative ID, a masked email generator and a personal detail generator for sign-ups you don't trust.
One and One+ add Surfshark's antivirus, web content blocker, scam protection tools and, on One+, Incogni data removal. Starter has none of those. It is a VPN plus Alternative ID.
On privacy, Surfshark says it doesn't track, log or store your activity. It also says Deloitte has verified its server configuration, deployment process, VPN server configuration, API, SDN and employees, and it publishes regular transparency reports. Surfshark is run by Surfshark B.V. in Amsterdam.
A VPN hides your IP address from websites and encrypts traffic between you and the VPN server. It doesn't make you anonymous: the accounts you sign in to still know who you are. Surfshark's own wording is about not logging, and that's as far as this guide goes too.

All of Surfshark's plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Prices vary by country and currency; the Australian site, for example, shows Starter at A$3.49 a month on the 2-year deal.
The first-term prices are the deal Surfshark uses to win new customers. They apply once. After that you pay the renewal price, so the figure that matters over several years is $79 a year for Starter, or $16.45 a month if you never commit.

How our price compares
There are three ways to look at it.
Against monthly billing, the saving is large. Twelve months at $16.45 is $197.40, and our 12-month account costs a fraction of that.
Against Surfshark's renewal price of $79 a year, ours is cheaper, and that gap repeats every year. Surfshark's discount only covers your first term. From then on the subscription renews automatically at the full yearly rate, while ours stays at €55 each time you buy another year.
Against Surfshark's first-term deal of $50.85 for 15 months, the direct offer is lower for that one term. It is an introductory price for new customers, it needs a card left on file, and it rolls into the $79 renewal unless you remember to cancel. Over two or more years, ours costs less in total.
So the real comparison is the long run: Surfshark's intro price once, then the full rate every year, against one flat price every year with no auto-renewal to cancel.
Who this suits
- Households with many devices. Surfshark's unlimited devices on one login is its strongest point, and a premade account doesn't change that.
- Anyone planning to keep a VPN for more than a year. Surfshark's direct price climbs at renewal; ours doesn't.
- People who only want the VPN. If you'd want Surfshark's antivirus or Incogni data removal, those come with One and One+, which we don't sell.
It suits less well anyone who wants the account fully under their own control, for example to use the Alternative ID masked emails long-term. Those addresses sit on an account we created that ends after 12 months.

- Enter your Discord or Telegram username. Nothing else is needed.

- Install the Surfshark app on each device and sign in with the details you receive.
- If the account stops working within the 90-day warranty for a reason you didn't cause, open a Discord ticket with your payment ID and it is replaced.

Why isn't there a monthly option?

What does the 90-day warranty mean on a 12-month plan?
If the account stops working within the first 90 days for a reason you didn't cause, it is replaced free. After 90 days there is no replacement, even though the subscription runs for a year.
What happens when the 12 months end?
The subscription ends and the app stops connecting. Order another 12 months and you get a new premade account to sign in with.
