Steam Lifetime Duo: 32K+ Games for You and a Friend
Lifetime Duo covers you and one friend for €115, both with the full library. Built for players who want to play online together on supported titles.
Lifetime Duo is the plan for two people who play together. For €115, you and one friend both get the full Steam 32K+ Games library, and the plan note is clear about the point of it: play together online.
That matters because of how multiplayer works with this tool. According to the listing, online play is only possible on selected titles, and only when every player has the tool active. A Lifetime Solo on your account doesn't help a friend who doesn't have it. Duo puts both of you on the tool in one purchase.
The tool is third-party software. Valve doesn't make, sell or endorse it, and the games it adds aren't Steam store purchases. The main Steam guide explains how it works and what Valve's terms say.
What Lifetime Duo includes
From the plan note and listing:
- You plus one friend, two players in total.
- Both get the full library of 32,000+ games.
- Online play together on titles that support multiplayer through the tool.
- Lifetime access with no expiry date, under the lifetime plan terms.
- Instructions and a setup guide for activation.
A licence is linked to a Steam account rather than a PC, so each of you uses your own Steam account. If anything about activating the second player isn't clear from the guide, ask on Discord.
Splitting the cost
Duo costs €115. Split evenly between two people, each share is less than a Lifetime Solo at €75. If both of you were going to buy Solo anyway, Duo is cheaper for each of you.
Sort out the split before you order. The purchase is made by one person, and all sales are final, so agree on who pays what first.
How online play works in practice
Set expectations before you buy:
- Selected titles only. Not every game in the library supports playing together through the tool. Check the specific games you want to play together, ideally on 1 Day plans first.
- Both players need the tool active. That's the reason Duo exists. If a third friend wants to join, they'd need their own plan, or you'd want Lifetime Trio from the start.
- Games launch from Steam. Once a game is installed, neither of you needs the tool open to start it.
Duo next to the other plans
| Plan | Price | Players | Multiplayer together |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Day | €5 | 1 | Needs a second plan |
| 1 Month | €35 | 1 | Needs a second plan |
| Lifetime Solo | €75 | 1 | Needs a second plan |
| Lifetime Duo | €115 | 2 | Both covered |
| Lifetime Trio | €155 | 3 | All three covered |
If there's any chance a third regular player joins you, compare Trio now. Adding a third person later means a separate plan.
Ordering Lifetime Duo
- Agree with your friend on the cost split and which Steam account each of you will use.
- Choose Steam · Lifetime Duo on the Steam 32K+ Games page.
- Pay by card or crypto. PayPal and direct wallet payments are handled in a Discord ticket.
- Most orders arrive within 0–24 hours. The licence details, instructions and setup guide come once the order is fulfilled; track it on your order page.
- Each of you follows the setup guide on your own Steam account, then add the games you want to play together.
Risks specific to Duo
- Two accounts at risk. Valve's Steam Subscriber Agreement allows Valve to restrict or cancel accounts that breach it, and using this tool is a breach. Both players carry that risk. Each of you should consider a separate Steam account rather than your main one. The product FAQ suggests a new account if you want to keep this apart from your main library.
- You depend on each other. If one of you stops using it, the other still has the library but loses a co-op partner. The cost is already spent.
- Lifetime means as long as the tool is maintained. It's updated with each Steam client update. If that stopped, access would be affected for both of you.
- No listed warranty, and sales are final. Refunds only apply if we can't deliver the order.
Frequently asked questions
Do both players get the same library?
Yes. The plan note says both get the full library.
Can we play every game together?
No. Multiplayer works on selected titles, and both of you need the tool active. Check the games you care about before relying on them.
Can my friend use a different PC in another house?
The licence is linked to a Steam account, not a device, so each of you uses your own Steam account on your own PC.
Is Duo cheaper than two Lifetime Solo plans?
Yes. Duo costs less than two Solo plans, so each person pays less than Solo when you split it.
What if we want a third player later?
They'd need their own plan. If you already know there'll be three of you, Lifetime Trio covers all three in one purchase.
