Cheap Dropbox Plus for 12 Months: Price, Setup and What to Store
Our Dropbox Plus option costs far less than buying direct, and it works as a seat on a Dropbox team. Here is how to use it well.
This plan is for someone who needs more than Dropbox's free 2 GB and wants to pay as little as possible for a year of it. It costs €44 for twelve months, against a listed retail figure of €120, a saving of 63%. For comparison, Dropbox's own Plus plan is A$184.67 a year on its Australian plans page, as of October 2026.
It isn't the same purchase as subscribing to Plus yourself. Our product page says you "will be added to our Business plan", meaning a seat on a Dropbox team we administer. That works well for some files and badly for others, and this guide is mostly about telling them apart.
What you get and what it needs
- Twelve months on our Dropbox business team, under the Plus option.
- You provide your email address and a Discord or Telegram username. No password.
- Warranty included for the full term.
The listing doesn't state the storage allocated to the seat. Dropbox's own Plus plan is 2 TB for one person, with 30 days to restore deleted files and transfers up to 50 GB. If you need a specific amount of space, ask in Discord before ordering.

Both plans are delivered the same way, so the decision comes down to what each seat includes. Our listing doesn't spell that out for either one. Start with Plus. Pay for Pro only if Discord confirms it gives you something you need, such as more storage.
Files that suit a team seat, and files that don't
On a Dropbox team, the admin can view your folder structure, open and download files, delete or restore them, and share them. That's from Dropbox's help page on admin access, and it applies to every Dropbox team, not just ours.
Good fits:
- photo and video archives you'd share with friends anyway
- working files for school or hobby projects
- a second copy of things already backed up elsewhere
- large downloads you want available on all your devices
Poor fits:
- passports, ID scans, bank statements, tax returns
- client files covered by a confidentiality agreement
- anything a regulator expects you to keep under your own control
For the second list, either keep them on storage you own or put them in the separate personal account Dropbox offers when you join the team.
Setting it up, step by step
- On the Dropbox product page, select "Plus · 12 months".
- Enter the email for the Dropbox account you'll use, plus your Discord or Telegram username. Pay by card or crypto, or open a Discord ticket for PayPal or a wallet payment.
- Most orders are delivered within 0–24 hours. Your order page shows progress.
- Accept the team invitation from Dropbox in that inbox.
- If you already have files in a Dropbox account at that address, Dropbox asks whether to transfer them to the team or keep them separate. Dropbox's own explanation: transferring gives the admin access; keeping them separate moves them into a new personal account the admin can't see. If in doubt, keep them separate.
- Install or sign in to the Dropbox app with that email.
A tidy option is to use a fresh email address just for this seat. Then nothing personal is ever mixed in.
Limits to keep in mind
- The admin is not you. Dropbox lets a team admin suspend, delete or convert a member's account.
- Twelve months, then it ends. Download or move anything you want to keep before the term is up.
- Warranty conditions. If the seat stops working for a reason you didn't cause, you get a free replacement through a Discord ticket with your payment ID. Breaking Dropbox's terms or sharing your login voids it.
- Storage isn't listed. Confirm the amount if it matters.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as buying Dropbox Plus from Dropbox?
No. Buying from Dropbox gives you an individual account you control. This plan puts you on our business team, where we are the admin. That is why the file-privacy advice above matters.
Will my existing Dropbox files be visible to the admin?
Only if you choose to transfer them to the team when you join. Choose "keep files separate" and Dropbox moves them into a personal account the admin can't access.
Can I share folders with people outside the team?
Dropbox's team plans give admins sharing controls, so what you can share outside the team depends on the team's settings. Ask in Discord if this is important to you.
What happens at the end of 12 months?
The seat ends. Save copies of anything you want to keep before then, or buy another year.
Do I need to install anything special?
No. Use the normal Dropbox apps and sign in with the email you were invited with.
