IPVanish Advanced for 12 Months: Is the Top Tier Worth It?
IPVanish Advanced bundles antivirus, an isolated browser and 1 TB of cloud storage with the VPN. Here is what the extra money buys and who should skip it.
IPVanish Advanced is the tier for people who would otherwise buy a VPN, an antivirus and a cloud backup service separately. Our 12-month Advanced account costs €50, against a listed retail of €110, a saving of 55%. IPVanish itself renews Advanced at $129.99 a year in US dollars, as of October 2026.
The question with Advanced isn't whether it's a good deal on paper. It is whether you will use the extras. The VPN itself is the same one you get on Essential.
What the Advanced tier adds
IPVanish's pricing page describes Advanced as "everything in Complete", and Complete as "everything in Essential", plus these:

What you need to order
Nothing except a Discord or Telegram username. Advanced is supplied as a premade account, so you don't register with IPVanish or hand over a password. You get the login and use it in the IPVanish apps.

Advanced costs more than Essential here, and the difference buys the antivirus, the Secure Browser and the cloud storage. If you already pay for an antivirus or a backup service, compare what those cost you per year against that difference. If you'd replace one of them, Advanced pays for itself. If you'd use neither, Essential gets you the same VPN for less.
The cloud storage question
The 1 TB Livedrive allowance is the headline extra, and also the one to think hardest about. The account is premade: we created it and you receive its login. That is normal for a VPN, where the account only holds a subscription. Storage is different, because it holds your files.
Use it for things you'd be fine re-downloading: photo copies, media, a second backup of something you also keep elsewhere. Don't make it the only copy of tax documents or private photos. And remember the plan ends after 12 months. When it does, the storage goes with it, so move anything you want to keep before then.
Ordering and delivery
- Select Advanced · 12 months on the IPVanish page.
- Pay by card or crypto. PayPal and direct crypto wallet payments are handled in a Discord ticket.
- Add your Discord or Telegram username to the order form.
- Most orders are delivered within 0–24 hours, and the order page shows where yours is.
- Sign in to the IPVanish app with the details you receive. IPVanish's antivirus, Secure Browser and Livedrive are separate products from the VPN app; IPVanish's support pages explain how to install each one.
Risks and limits
- 90-day warranty on a 12-month plan. A replacement is available if the account stops working in the first 90 days for a reason you didn't cause. After that there is none.
- Shared logins void the warranty, and so does a ban for breaking IPVanish's terms.
- No refund window. IPVanish offers 30 days' money back when you buy direct. We don't: sales are final and refunds only happen when an order can't be delivered.
- Not upgradeable later. There is no path from our Essential account to Advanced mid-term. Decide up front.
Frequently asked questions
Is the VPN faster on Advanced?
No. IPVanish's comparison table lists the same high-speed VPN, the same 150 locations and the same features on Essential, Complete and Advanced. The tiers differ only in the extras.
Does the antivirus work on every device?
IPVanish lists the antivirus as part of the plan but doesn't promise it on every platform the VPN supports. Check IPVanish's download page for your operating system before relying on it.
Can I use the 1 TB storage from my phone?
IPVanish lists file syncing and sharing as part of Livedrive, its cloud storage product. Check IPVanish's download page for the apps available on your phone.
What happens to my files after 12 months?
When the subscription ends, the Advanced features end with it. Download anything you want to keep before the year is up.
Should I pick Advanced just for the extra eSIM data?
Probably not. The difference is 2 GB of eSIM data. If travel data is what you're after, a dedicated eSIM plan will usually cost less than the step up.
