Spotify Family Lifetime Slot: Premium for €20 With No Renewal Date

The Family slot is the cheapest way onto Spotify Premium: one payment, no end date, unlimited replacements. It is also a membership in someone else's plan. Here is what that means.

The Spotify Family slot is for listeners who want Premium at the lowest long-term cost and are comfortable being a member of a family plan they don't run. You pay €20 once. Your existing Spotify account is added to a Family plan, and there is no renewal date.

The comparison that matters is time. Spotify Premium Individual costs $12.99 a month in the US as of October 2026, and our Solo option is €30 for a single year. The Family slot costs €20 with no end date, so every month you keep it lowers what you have paid per month.

What you get

Your own Spotify account joins an existing Spotify Premium Family plan run by someone else. The listing describes it as "added to random family plan" with "unlimited replacements."

As a member you get:

  • Premium on your own account. Spotify Family members have separate accounts and log in with their own details. Your playlists, liked songs and history stay where they are.
  • The standard Premium features: ad-free listening, offline downloads, songs in any order and lossless audio up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz.
  • Replacements if the slot ends. If you are removed from the family, you are moved to a new one at no charge, as many times as it takes.

What you don't get: the audiobook hours. On Family plans Spotify gives the 15 monthly hours to the plan manager only. Members can buy them as an add-on.

What it requires

  • Your Spotify email and password, plus a Discord or Telegram username, in the order form.
  • An account that isn't already in a family or on paid Premium. Leave any Family or Duo plan you're on, and let any paid subscription lapse, before ordering.

Spotify's rules for family members

Spotify publishes these rules on its Premium Family help page:

  • Family is "a discounted plan for up to 6 family members who live together."
  • Members "enter the same home address as the plan manager upon joining the plan."
  • "Plan members can only switch plans once every 12 months."

Each one shapes how the slot behaves. You are joining a family you don't live with, which doesn't meet Spotify's household rule, and Spotify asks members to verify their address when they join, when the manager changes address, and whenever it can't confirm it. A member who gets a reverification email has 7 days to enter the full address. That is the main reason a slot can end, and the reason replacements are unlimited rather than a promise that one slot lasts forever.

The 12-month switching rule is the one most people miss. Spotify limits how often a member can move between plans. If your slot ends soon after you joined, a move to a new family may run into that limit, so a replacement isn't always instant. Ask in your Discord ticket about timing if that happens.

At current prices, the Family slot costs less than a single year of Solo. Over two or three years the gap grows, because Solo and Duo have to be bought again each year. What you give up is control: on Solo the plan is yours and nothing depends on another household.

Ordering step by step

  1. Leave any Spotify Family or Duo plan your account belongs to, and cancel any paid Premium.
  2. Choose Family (Lifetime) on the Spotify page and pay by card or crypto. First-time buyers get 10% off.
  3. Enter your Spotify email, password and a Discord or Telegram username.
  4. Your account is added to a family plan. Most orders are delivered within 0–24 hours.
  5. Check your Spotify account page for Premium Family, then change your password.
  6. If you are ever removed, open a Discord ticket with your payment ID to be moved to a new family.

Risks and limits

You don't control the plan. The plan manager can remove members, and Spotify can act on its address rule. Either ends the slot until you're replaced.

Replacements can take time. Spotify's once-every-12-months limit on switching plans can affect how quickly you're moved.

Things that void the warranty. A ban for breaking Spotify's terms, changing your account's region after joining, or sharing your login.

"Lifetime" means no renewal date. It describes the slot having no expiry and replacements having no cap. It can't stop Spotify from changing its family-plan rules or prices.

All three Spotify options are compared in the Spotify guide.

Frequently asked questions

Does my existing account join, or do I get a new one?

Your existing account joins. That is why the order form asks for your login, and why your library and history stay with you.

Can the plan manager see my listening?

Family members have separate accounts and log in with their own details. The plan manager controls membership and parental controls, but your account and library remain yours.

What happens if I'm removed from the family?

Open a Discord ticket with your payment ID and you're moved to a new family at no charge. Replacements are unlimited for this plan, subject to the usual warranty exclusions.

Why might a replacement not be immediate?

Spotify's help page says plan members can only switch plans once every 12 months. Depending on when you last joined a plan, that limit can delay a move.

Do I need to live at the family's address?

Spotify's rules say members live together and enter the plan manager's address when joining. With this slot you don't live there, which is the main risk of the option and the reason the replacements exist.

Do I get audiobook hours?

No. On Family plans Spotify gives audiobook listening time to the plan manager only. Members can buy hours separately.
