The VPN Plus upgrade is for someone who already has a Proton account, often a free one, and wants the paid VPN on every device without starting over. We upgrade that account to VPN Plus for 12 months for €53. Our listed retail is €120, which is twelve months at Proton's monthly rate of $9.99. Proton's own 12-month VPN Plus plan is $83.88 at its standard price, in US dollars as of October 2026. So against Proton's yearly plan the saving is smaller than 56%, but still real.
What the upgrade gives you
On Proton's plans page, VPN Plus includes:
- Up to 10 devices at the same time, against one on Proton Free.
- The full server network. Proton lists 20,799 servers in 149 countries; the free plan uses servers in 10 countries.
- NetShield, Proton's ad, tracker and malware blocker.
- Secure Core, which routes traffic through a second server before it leaves Proton's network.
- Streaming support and P2P, plus Proton's highest VPN speeds.
The no-logs policy is the same on free and paid plans. Proton says it has passed a fifth consecutive annual audit by Securitum.

Proton prices are its standard US dollar prices as of October 2026.
The premade account costs less, but it works on one device and isn't yours. Unlimited costs more and is only worth it if you'll use Proton Mail, Drive or Pass on the paid tier. For a VPN on your own account across your phone, laptop and TV, Plus is the one to buy.

- Pay by card or crypto. PayPal and direct crypto wallet payments are handled in a Discord ticket.
- Enter your Discord or Telegram username, then your Proton account email and password.

- When your account shows VPN Plus, change your Proton password. Then sign in on up to ten devices.
If your account already has a paid Proton plan, ask in a Discord ticket before ordering so the upgrade doesn't clash with it.
Risks and limits
You share your login once. If that isn't acceptable, the premade account is the only option that doesn't need it, with its one-device limit.
Two-step verification. If your Proton account uses two-factor authentication, tell us on Discord so the upgrade can be completed. Never post a code in a public channel.

Frequently asked questions
Will I keep my existing Proton Mail address?
Yes. It is your account, so your address, settings and any data stay as they are. The upgrade only changes the VPN plan.
Does this also upgrade Proton Mail and Drive?
No. VPN Plus is the VPN plan. Mail Plus, Drive Plus and Pass Plus come with Proton Unlimited.
How many devices can I use?
Up to ten at the same time, which is Proton's own limit for VPN Plus.
What happens after 12 months?
Your account returns to Proton Free, which keeps the VPN on one device with servers in 10 countries. You can order another year at any point.
Can I change my password after the upgrade?
Yes, and you should. Changing your password doesn't affect the plan.
