The cheapest way into Proton's paid VPN network, with one hard condition: it is for a single device. Here is who that suits and who it doesn't.
This plan is for one person protecting one device: a work laptop, a single phone, a home PC. It is a premade Proton account on the Unlimited plan for 12 months, and it costs €35 against a listed retail of €120, a saving of 71%. For comparison, Proton's own standard 12-month Unlimited price is $119.88 in US dollars, as of October 2026.
It is the cheapest of our three Proton options by a wide margin. The reason to read this page before buying is the condition attached to it: this account is limited to one device.
What "1 device only" means in practice
Proton Unlimited normally lets you connect up to 10 devices at the same time. This account is sold for one. In plain terms:
- Install Proton VPN on the one device you care about most and sign in there.
- Don't sign in on your phone as well as your laptop, or hand the login to someone else in the house.
- If you replace that device, move the login to the new one rather than running both.
If you already know you want the VPN on two or more devices, this isn't a cheaper version of what you need. It is a different product, and the VPN Plus upgrade or the Unlimited upgrade is the right buy.
What you get
The requirements in our catalogue for this plan are short:
- A ready-to-use Proton account is provided. You don't share any login of your own.
- It is limited to 1 device only.

The account is on Proton Unlimited, so the VPN is the full paid version. Proton lists 20,799 servers in 149 countries on its server page, plus NetShield (its ad, tracker and malware blocker), Secure Core double-hop servers, streaming support and P2P.
Proton Unlimited also includes Mail Plus, Drive Plus and Pass Plus. On a premade account those services live in an account we created. Use them if you like, but don't make it your main email or the only place your passwords live. When the 12 months end, you lose access to whatever is stored there.

- Pay by card or crypto. To pay with PayPal or a direct crypto wallet transfer, open a Discord ticket.
- Enter your Discord or Telegram username. Nothing else is needed.
- Most orders are delivered within 0–24 hours, and your order page shows the status.
- Install Proton VPN on your chosen device and sign in with the details you receive.
Risks and limits of this plan
One device. This is the limit that matters, and the plan isn't meant to be stretched past it.
A 90-day warranty on a 12-month plan. If the account stops working within 90 days for a reason you didn't cause, open a Discord ticket with your payment ID and it is replaced. Past 90 days there is no replacement. The upgrade plans cover 360 days instead.
Not your account. Change nothing you don't need to, don't reuse its password elsewhere, and don't store anything in its Mail or Drive that you'd mind losing.
Sharing voids the warranty. Giving the login to someone else voids the cover, as does a ban for breaking Proton's terms.
Final sale. Refunds are only given if the order can't be delivered.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this on my phone and my laptop?
No. It is sold for one device. If you need both, choose the VPN Plus upgrade, which uses Proton's normal ten-device allowance on your own account.
Why is it so much cheaper than the upgrades?
It is a single-device premade account with a 90-day warranty, while the upgrades are applied to your own account, cover ten devices and carry a 360-day warranty. You are paying less for less.
Can I switch it to a different device later?
Yes, as long as only one device uses it at a time. Sign out on the old one and sign in on the new one.
Can I use the Proton Mail address that comes with it?
The account includes Proton's Unlimited services, but it is a premade account that ends after 12 months. Treat any email address on it as temporary.
What happens at the end of the 12 months?
The plan ends. Buy another 12 months to get a new account, or move to an upgrade of your own Proton account if you'd rather keep everything in one place.
